First post-lockdown service.

St Edmunds, Dolton opened tentatively again after three months of closure this morning with a Morning Prayer service.

There were 20 of us spread out across the church and it did seem quite alien at first.

We came in brilliant sunshine, suitably distanced, but delighted not only to see familiar faces but some new to us. It was hard not to chat at length over coffee afterwards with old friends but as the church re established its place in our hearts and  Morning Prayer  began, we relaxed into a lovely, simple service. We missed the many who could not come yet.

We were the first church in our benefice to open, those at Dowland, Iddesleigh and Monkokehampton will be doing so soon, we hope.

We will be holding another service in a couple of weeks of which more details will be available later.

We regret that at present we cannot open the church all day as we used to but look forward to the day when can .
